8 weeks old now!

So little Sylvia is 8 weeks old now… and she gets cuter every day. Today she was trying to figure out how to laugh… it was so cute. She was playing with her gym and she would coo and smile at the fish, and then she’d go “heh… heh… heh”. A very slow version of laughing. It was so adorable!

We went in for her 2 month checkup yesterday and she’s a hefty 12 lbs 6 oz and 22.5 inches. So she’s in like the 90th percentile as far as weight goes… but I don’t think she looks all that chubby, actually. The doctor didn’t seem to think it was a problem, since she was pretty heavy when she was born too. The doctor was very impressed with her head control (she can hold her head up straight when you pull her up to sitting by her hands) and with the fact that she rolled over at 5 weeks. He also said, “Wow, she’s really very healthy. Whatever you’re doing, keep doing it.”

I love the things she does now, she’s so cute all the time… When I lay her on her tummy on my tummy (confusing?), she likes to roll over into one of my arms and then she’ll smile up at me. She thinks it’s so funny. I’ll then talk to her, because she loves watching my face when I talk. When I say “I love you!” she always smiles, and then she says “ahh-gooo” back to me.

Right now she’s in her swing, practicing talking to herself. Every once in a while she’ll go “Ah-WOO!” really high-pitched. I don’t know what she’s trying to imitate there, but it’s cute (maybe Wow!, which I say to her when she does something really well?). 🙂 She also just said “Yeah?” like I do when I talk to her. She’s a smart little girl, that’s for sure!

Another thing she does that is so cute, is when I stand her up on my leg, she can bear her weight, and she takes steps all by herself (While I’m balancing her, of course) up my leg, then marches right up my tummy. When she does it, she has this cute look on her face that’s hard to describe… She kind of makes an o with her mouth, goes a little cross-eyed and looks at my face and raises her eyebrows… like “Look at me! I can’t believe I just did that!”

I love my little girl. 🙂

We got some cute, cute strawberry outfits from my Aunt Kelley. One’s a bathing suit, and the other is like a peasant shirt with some cute little jeans. Here’s some pictures!

In weight loss news, I went to visit the nutritionist at BYU Health Center yesterday. She gave me a set amount of calories to eat a day (1700) and gave me a little thing telling me how many portions I should be eating of carbs, veggies, fruit, fats, etc… and a guide that tells me how much of certain foods equals a portion. She also had me make some exercise goals. So on Sunday I’m going to start my new diet… (I need to finish off all of the foods that we still have first, then I can go buy newer, healthy stuff 🙂 )

I’m going to start trying to exercise 5 days a week for at least an hour. I’m trying to find a Wii Fit for its sale price still… I call Gamestop every morning to find out if they got their shipment in… but no luck so far. Hopefully they’ll get it soon, because I think that will be a good exercise tool. 🙂

In other news, Andrew and I purchased a 37″ Olevia HDTV a little bit ago and we’ve been enjoying that a lot. RC Willey was having a memorial day sale and selling them for $600, so we broke down and bought it because it was a really good price, and there are really good reviews for this television. We like it a lot, especially since we also got a component cable for our wii, which makes it more hi-def.

We rented Mariokart for the Wii this week, and that has been a lot of fun. I love the game and I’ve been playing it a lot… I’ve got gold trophies in all the races already. 😀 It’s great.

Our landlord is coming by tomorrow, so I’ve been cleaning the house all day today… I kind of let it go a little bit, so it was kind of dirty. But now it looks nice. It’s nice to just have a one bedroom apartment to clean. It takes very little time. Hehe

Well, that’s about it!

Hope you’re all doing well!
